For Referring Providers

New Horizons Therapy NY is a telehealth psychotherapy group practice founded by Dr. Scott E. Lloyd, PhD. We welcome referrals from physicians, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, schools and colleagues in practice.

WHERE WE ARE LICENSED

New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Ohio. Telehealth follows the client's location, so we match every referral to a clinician licensed in the state where the client will be at the time of the session.

WHAT WE TREAT

Anxiety and panic, OCD, depression and mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, relationship and couples difficulties, family conflict, life transitions, sleep problems, chronic pain, substance use and eating concerns.

HOW WE WORK

Our clinicians practice CBT, ERP for OCD, ACT, DBT-informed care, EMDR, the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, IFS and mindfulness-based approaches. The practice includes licensed psychologists, mental health counselors, clinical social workers and marriage and family therapists, together with associate clinicians working under supervision. Where a client is seen by an associate clinician, the supervising clinician is identified to the client before the first appointment.

PAYMENT

We see clients who use insurance and clients who pay privately. Which applies is confirmed before anything is booked, so there are no surprises about cost.

HOW TO REFER

Use the contact form on this site. It helps to include the client's name and best contact, the state they live in, the presenting concern in general terms, and whether they expect to use insurance or pay privately. Please do not send protected health information by unencrypted email - a name and a way to reach the client is enough to start.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

We reply to every referral by email. We confirm whether we have a clinician who is both licensed in the client's state and currently available, and if we do not, we say so plainly rather than leaving the referral open.

WHAT THIS IS NOT

We are a telehealth practice and do not offer in-person sessions. This is not a crisis or emergency service, and this inbox is not monitored around the clock. If a client is in danger, thinking about harming themselves, or needs help now, direct them to call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
