Okay, our first question is:

Dr. Lloyd, why are people so hung up on going to therapy? What's the big deal? I've been doing it for years.

Well, I can tell you. Most people don't want to do much of anything. It's very difficult to start a new routine. So not going to therapy is the least of many people's worries.

But, in terms of stigma, I think that some people believe telling somebody else your secrets — if you have any of my friends, you would know — is not always the best idea. It might come back to bite you.

But the great thing about a therapist is they're legally bound. We're professionals who literally can't tell anyone about your deepest, darkest secrets. And not only that, we have a degree where we're trained to help you get the things that you want in life. Not what we want. Not what your friends or your parents want. What you want.

So there's not really a reason to be so worried about therapy. Give it a try. I did.
