Today we're here to talk about humour in mental health and counselling, and let me tell you that humour is something that has long accompanied suffering throughout human history.
It is the most difficult and darkest moments where we need to laugh the most, and that creates a physiological response for us that releases endorphins, it bonds us closer with the people around us, and it creates those social ties that help us to enhance our support and get through moments of loss, discomfort, and tragedy.
So humour is very, very important. It's also very important in the context of telemedicine because sometimes lacking that face-to-face connection, it can be a way of increasing kind of that bond or that intimacy, or lowering that threshold, that barrier that we have from being across camera or across, you know, larger geographic distances.
So humour is great. Yuck it up, and keep asking questions. Talk to you soon.
